As a world leader in aircraft exhaust systems and engine months, the company's core competencies include certified welding, precision machining and sheet metal fabrication.Hartzell is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to support all aspects of manufacturing at AMI and AWI. In this role, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for supporting estimating with new opportunities, develop manufacturing processes for new products and for continuous improvement to existing long-term product orders. This Manufacturing Engineer will also support quality engineering functions when required to aid in new product introduction. Key Deliverables of the Position1) Estimate time costs for manufacturing.2) Review customer specifications and drawings to determine manufacturing requirements including sub-contracting (surface finishing, heat-treating, NDT, etc.).3) Estimate and design welding and manufacturing tooling and fixtures.4) Develop shop floor routings and choose subcontractors to fulfill manufacturing requirements. 5) Creating internal drawings. 6) Work with shop floor employees to resolve manufacturing challenges as well as develop robust and efficient processes. 7) Write work instructions and internal processes. 8) Consult with customers and manage new product development; including timeline. 9) Work with suppliers to meet customer's needs. 10) Develop quality control plans to ensure part conformity.11) Support quality engineers with programming of CMM equipment to support new product introduction. First Year Success Factors1) Familiarization with all AMI Products.2) Ability to develop conforming manufacturing sequences within the AMI systems. 3) Demonstrated aptitude for process development/improvement. 4) Independent development of tooling and work holding. Required Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering. A minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience.Required Technical Competencies1) Excellent written and verbal communication skills2) Demonstrated Project Management Experience a. Ability to plan and coordinate resources for technical projects3) Proficient Computer Skills a. Microsoft Office b. Experience with Solidworks c. Experience with ERP Systems; Epicor Vista preferred4) Machine operating experience 5) Programming of CNC machining and bending equipment.
